April Lockhart

April Lockhart (born July 4 April, 1995) started her musical journey in the 7th grade when she took guitar and piano classes. April's very first song was called Different. She wrote it when she was 12 years old. As April approached 14 years old, she spent the majority of her time developing song ideas as well as perfecting the song. Soon after, April started to go on trips with her dad and to write songs in NY or LA. April started to incorporate various other topics relevant to the song, which she called the Take my Hand song for some acquaintances, including peer pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart is an influencer in the beauty and lifestyle industry with a growing following. She works with popular brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership in addition to being a specialist in lifestyle. Lockhart was never born with a left-hand, which is the reason she's what she is. But that's far from the whole story. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't conceal the fact that she is disabled, but neither does it make a point of it. The point? It is important to remember that we all have numerous faces. Our identities are diverse and we are much more than our bodies. Lockhart speaks through video from Nashville. "I don't wish for it to dictate my life. I do not want to be merely identified as a specialist in disability. My everyday life isn't affected by it. I live my normal day-to-day life and discover my own solutions to issues. It's also part of me and I feel it's essential to discuss. Self-acceptance is a long marathon however Lockhart is an absolute inspiration for this aspect. Still, she admits that she went through phases in her life with her physique, feeling uneasy in some instances to wear clothes that showed the arms of her. Nowadays, she dresses anything she likes and uploads photos in those outfits to social networks with a sense of pride. The self-love she talks about is a journey. It's hard to say whether you'll get to the end. However, that is the case with anyone who has insecurities. I believe that it's really important to surround yourself with people who can identify and feel your heart.
